Transfer update: Memphis Depay still on top of Barcelona's shortlist

Barcelona have continued to be linked with a move for Memphis Depay in this weekend’s transfer update by Footy Area.

Memphis Depay is still Barcelona’s preferred transfer option this summer, as Man United continue to chase a positive update on Jadon Sancho and Alex Telles.

The LaLiga giants Barca have been linked with countless attackers as they wish to rebuild under Ronald Koeman.

Memphis Depay has recently risen to the top of their transfer wishlist, and it appears something might happen in the next few days.

Depay is reportedly in pole position to join Barcelona from Lyon, according to Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo.

Their report says Depay, who is 26-years-old, fits the profile and salary structure at Barca.

Depay and Koeman enjoyed their time together while the latter was in charge of the Netherlands between 2018 and 2020.

TRANSFER ROUND-UP

Man United are still looking to add two more players before the transfer window shuts close.

The Sun reports the Red Devils are looking to capture Borussia Dortmund star Sancho and Porto’s Alex Telles .

Arsenal are very close to completing a move for Houssem Aouar. Telefoot says the attacker has agreed to join The Gunners, and all that’s left now is an agreement on the transfer fee.

Goal reports Man City are close to completing a player plus cash deal for Benfica’s Ruben Dias; with Nicolas Otamendi set to go the other way.

On the other hand, ESPN reports Sevilla are still waiting for an improved bid from City for Jules Kounde after their initial €55m offer was rejected.

Chelsea are not done spending money this summer. The Mirror reports they have submitted an undisclosed offer for Declan Rice, with Jorginho getting set to join Arsenal.

Sergino Dest is expected to join Barcelona next week after the Catalan giants sold Semedo to Wolves.

Tottenham are still considering making a move for Milan Skriniar this summer but at only prepared to pay between £25m to £30m for the defender.
