Napoli have signed Nigerian international Victor Osimhen from Lille for an initial €50m deal, which could rise up to €54m with performance based add-ons.
The €54m deal for Osimhen makes him the most expensive player in Napoli’s history, as well as being the most expensive Nigerian in history
Victor Osimhen, who is 21 years old this year, spent only one year in France with Lille, but proved himself enough to secure a big money deal to Napoli
Osimhen’s history in Europe began when he joined Wolfsburg in 2017, before going on loan to Belgian side Charleroi, who later made his loan permanent when he met their condition by scoring 20 goals in the 2018/19 season.
Charleroi made significant profit from the €3.5m they spent to sign him from Wolfsburg when Lille came knocking for Osimhen, whom they eventually sold for €15m to the French side.

Osimhen managed 13 goals and 4 assists in the French Ligue 1 during his only season with Lille. This is a figure only bettered by Kylian Mbappé, Wissam Ben Yedder, and Moussa Dembélé.
Footy Area believes the €50m fee could eventually rise up to €54m, due to the performance related clause’s inserted in his deal.
The previous most expensive signing for Napoli was former PSV Eindhoven attacker Hirvin ‘Chucky’ Lozano, whom they signed for a reported fee of €42m.
