Despite the fact that Jones only signed a new four year contract extension year, he has made just eight appearances in all competitions this season. Additionally, he has started only two Premier League games this season, and was taken off at half time in the first game after making a number of terrible mistakes.

Lingard, however, has made 36 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United so far this season. But he hasn’t featured in the league since the resumption of play for United. Worse still, he hasn’t even been named on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s bench for any of their last three league games.

Footy Area reports that West Ham boss Moyes has set his sights on Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard, and he could be able to make a move if he ensures the Hammers avoid relegation this season.

Moyes is believed to be very interested in Jones, as he looks to strengthen his defense.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking for possible ways to raise funds in order to acquire his preferred targets in the transfer window, the likes of Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard have been linked with moves away, and Footy Area reports that the pair are expected to leave Old Trafford this season.

However, with Phil Jones signing recent contract extension, it could prove to be a difficult task pushing the player out of the club, and Footy Area understands that Jessie Lingard is not keen on leaving Old Trafford, preferring to stay at the club instead.

Lingard’s contract is due to expire next summer. However, United do have the option to trigger an extension by a further year. In fact, a source confirmed to Footy Area back in May that the club will not force the England international out of the club if he doesn’t want to go, while they are also considering triggering the one year contract extension.
