Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has revealed news that his club made a daring attempt to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the previous January transfer window, but they are now considering another move for former PSG forward Edinson Cavani.
It’s no news that Leeds United have been crowned 2019/20 Championship winners, and they now feel the need to strengthen the squad ahead of the new Premier league campaign, with plans already I order to strengthen some definite areas before the transfer window slams shut.
Leeds owner Radrizzani is keen to find the right man to provide competition for Patrick Bamford upfront in the attack, as well as a few additions in midfield and the defense.
Two men that have been tipped to join up with the Whites this season are Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani.
Radrizzani recently confirmed that Leeds had tried to convince Ibrahimovic to join them in January but he refused and instead chose to join Milan.
But Radrizzani was quick to heap praise on Cavani who is currently a free agent, stating that the Uruguayan ace would fit nicely into Marcelo Bielsa’s high-intensity football style, due his imposing physique.
“Quality and reputation aside, Cavani would for nicely into the teams playing style easily, he could adapt here nicely because he had a wonderful physique. But I haven’t discussed it with Bielsa yet, but we will see what happens in the coming weeks given that he is available on a free transfer.”
