Borussia Dortmund official Michael Zorc has emphasized that the club want to keep Madrid right back Achraf Hakimi for one more season, even though he is supposed to head back to Madrid this summer before the pre-season preparations start.
“The agreement in Hakimi’s loan contract is clear. Therefore, he will go back to Madrid by the end of the season. But, we are also going to see if he will remain here with us next season, however, it is quite early to say that now,” said Zorc.
Achraf Hakimi definitely desires to be a first team starter and Borussia Dortmund can undoubtedly give it to him, since he would very well end up as a backup for Dani Carvajal in the Los Blancos team. Moreover, it is important to note that Achraf’s current deal with the Madrid side expires in the summer of 2022. Therefore, they will also need to tie him down before they release him for another loan spell.
Achraf Hakimi really has the ability and skill to be a starter at Real Madrid next season. And if he really wants to start regularly, it’s going to be a hard call by the Madrid boss Zidane to convince of remaining in the Spanish capital.
