European giants Barca and Juve have agreed a swap deal for the midfielders Arthur and Miralem Pjanic. The deal will also see the Serie A champions pay an additional €10m (£9m).
Arthur Melo, the 23 year old Brazilian international is believed to be reluctant to leave the Nou Camp, with the player preferring to remain in Barcelona for a very long time. There is however a slight difference in their valuations, as Juventus value Pjanic at €60m, and Barca value Arthur at €70m.
Both Arthur and Miralem Pjanic need to complete medicals, and finalise other minor details before a deal can be reached. However, as they prepare to swap allegiances, Arthur Melo has agreed to a five year deal with Juventus, while Miralem Pjanic has been offered a four year contract at Barcelona.
Brazilian international Arthur relocated to Barcelona in the summer of 2018, and has since impressed in his time with the club. It is believed that the Barca hierarchy do not view Arthur as the long term solution to their midfield since the departure of Iniesta.
Both clubs are still playing in the Champions League and any deal wouldn’t be concluded before the close of that tournament.
