Cristiano Ronaldo has been rested for the final Serie A game for Juventus due to Sarri’s claims of him being the most important piece of Juve’s Champions league chess set.
Ronaldo was given an official rest from the Juventus hierarchy early this morning, and has been omitted from the official 24 man list to play against Roma on the final matchday of the Serie A fixtures.
Maurizio Sarri has proceeded to rest his talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo, who he fears might get injured against a highly physical Roma team ahead of the Champions League clash next month.
News of Ronaldo’s absence from the matchday squad against Roma quickly caused a stir in the media, with Ronaldo looking to overthrow Ciro Immobile to win the Golden Boot.

Juventus are set to recieve the trophy immediately after the match against Roma at the Allianz Stadium.
Right after that, Juventus have a must-win game against Lyon next month, where they have to overturn a first leg 1-0 deficit in order to go through to the next stage of the Champions League.
Ronaldo has been the driving force behind Juventus this season, with his 31 Serie A goals this term being the major ingredient that helped Juve to their ninth straight Scudetto title.
His hopes of either catching or overtaking Immobile are now over, with him missing out on the final day, and Immobile already four goals ahead on the goal chart.
