Cristiano Ronaldo became the fastest player in Seria A history to reach 50 league goals after scoring a brace against Lazio yesterday.
Ronaldo has been in fine form this season, with his latest strikes moving him to the top of the scoring charts with 30 goals in 30 league games.
Juventus went into yesterday’s battle with the opportunity to move eight points clear at the top with four games remaining after contenders Inter and Atalanta dropped points during the weekend.
Ronaldo converted a penalty in the 51st minute to hand Juventus the lead and to make him the fastest player in Serie A history to reach half a century of goals after only 61 matches.
Ciro Immobile also scored a penalty to keep the tension alive before Ronaldo scores again to hand Juve their ninth straight scudetti title.
Cristiano Ronaldo is now only the third player in Juventus history to score 30 goals in a Serie A season, after Felice Borel [31 in 1933/34] and John Hansen [30 in 1951/52].
Ronaldo is now only 4 goals behind Robert Lewandowski in the race for the European golden shoe award. Lewandowski finished as the Bundesliga highest goal scorer with 34 goals in 33 appearances.
