Manchester United manager Solskjaer desires to see Paul Pogba demonstrate his level of leadership on the pitch. Especially the kind that helped France land the World cup two years ago.
Pogba who is due to return to action today after a lengthy layoff has been urged to show his leadership abilities against Tottenham Hotspur.
The French man has been out of action since December, and has been limited to only eight appearances in all competitions this term. Having undergone surgery early in the new year.
With Manchester United set to resume today against Tottenham, the 27-year-old midfielder is ready to fire on all cylinders for the Red Devils.
Pogba has however come under criticism in recent times for his poor form in a Manchester United shirt. Evidently proven by the way he played for Les Blues in the World cup.
Ever since his transfer from Juventus for a then record fee of £89.3m, Pogba has failed to live up to expectations, but continues to perform very well for France.
“Pogba has endured a tough season due to a series of injuries but his mentality and focus now that he is back and in training and available is good. He is ready to play again and to prove his worth” Solskjaer said in his news conference.
He has always been blessed with technical ability. Pogba is one of the best players in the world. Hopefully, we can get that from him.”
“Hopefully, we can work him back to his best over the next few months. Paul is a World cup winner, and it will be refreshing to have such leadership in the team.” The Manchester United manager said in his news conference.
