Paul Pogba will remain at Manchester United and there have been discussions over the prospect of a new contract, according to his agent, Mino Raiola.
The 27-year-old midfielder, who has been in Manchester United since 2016 following then world-record, transfer of £89.3million (€105m), has a year remaining on his deal at Old Trafford, although United have the option to extend it by one year.
Pogba made 157 appearances since making the return scoring 32 goals while helping Manchester United to a Carabao Cup and a Europa League title.
However, in recent years, Pogba has often been at the center of transfer rumors, with the French man often linked with an Old Trafford exit.
A significant bid for Pogba has always looked very slim due to the financial impact of the coronavirus, and it seems the World Cup-winning midfielder is set to commit his long-term future to Manchester United.
Raiola has indicated that Paul Pogba is a key player for Manchester United and an important part of their project and will not leave this summer.
Pogba made only eight appearances in all competitions before the suspension of English football due to the coronavirus pandemic.
After returning to full fitness from an ankle injury, the 27-year played 14 matches helping United reach the last-four of the FA Cup and Europa League and gain Champions League qualification for next season.
While Pogba looks set to commit his long-term future to Manchester United, Raiola also revealed that one of his other clients, Erling Haaland, will also stay at his current club this summer.
Haaland only completed a move to Borussia Dortmund in January, but has been hugely influential and in hot form since joining the Bundesliga side, scoring 16 times in 18 outings for the club.
Given his form, Haaland has been linked with several big-money moves as soon as this summer as the 20-year-old forward has already become one of the world’s most sought after finishers.
However, Raiola insists that the player is fine at Dortmund and will not be moving clubs for at least another season.
