Manchester United duo break 10 year club record
Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial

Manchester United duo Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have written their names in the Manchester United history books after reaching 20 goals each in their match against Bournemouth.

The pair became the first duo to repeat such feat since former manager Alex Ferguson retired ten years ago. It now seems Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally has gotten this team ticking.

No players have scored over 20 goals since Dimitar Berbatov and Javier Hernandez managed to do it in the 2010/2011 season.

The record was reached on Saturday at Old Trafford when they hosted Bournemouth, with Rashford slotting in a cool penalty to give United the lead after just 35 minutes of play, before Anthony Martial doubled their lead on the stroke of half time.

By scoring, the pair both reached the 20 goal mark for the current season. A feat which no Manchester United duo has been able to achieve since the 2010/2011 season, when Berbatov and Hernandez lit up Old Trafford.

The Manchester United duo have certainly developed a hunger to score goals this season, and their exceptional form has been the secret ingredient behind the Red Devils’ fight for Champions League qualification.

Rashford and Martial have formed a destructive partnership at the helm of the Premier League giants’ attack.

With Bournemouth merely hanging on for their lives in the Premier league, The loss against United means they are now on a four match losing run. With the battle for survival getting fiercer, the Cherries’ will definitely need to start winning games if they are to remain in the Premier league.
