Man City may be forced to look towards their youth system amid issues of a growing injury list which contains two of the first team’s strikers.
Man City have suffered another injury setback this season after Gabriel Jesus went off injured against Wolves to add to a list which already contains Agüero.
The Brazilian will also be ruled out of Brazil’s international games against Bolivia and Peru on the 9th and 13th respectively, confirms The Guardian.
Gabriel Jesus is expected to sit on the sidelines for at least three weeks after City confirmed that the striker was injured after the Wolves game.
The current Man City injury situation means Guardiola will have no first-team striker available for at least three matches.
These three games include when City host Leicester at the Etihad, before visiting the Turf Moor to face Burnley in the Carabao Cup.
After the game against Burnley, Gabriel Jesus might still not be fit for the Premier League match against Leeds.
City’s team doctors have confirmed Agüero’s knee still needs an additional seven weeks to really complete his healing process.
The official Brazilian national team said: “[On] Wednesday the English team contacted the doctor of the Brazilian national team, Rodrigo Lasmar, reporting the athlete’s injury detected after the game against Wolverhampton on Monday.”
And subsequently, on Friday, Gabriel Jesus tweeted: “I’ll be back soon”.
City may be prompted to give 17-year-old Liam Delap a go in the first team, considering he has had a few stints at that level.
Also, Guardiola may look towards deploying Raheem Sterling into the false 9 position, as Sterling has previously operated in that position for City.
