Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has once again produced a moment of pure magic by finding an unimaginable pass to Francisco Trincao without seeing the player charging into the box.
The 33-year-old Argentine superstar Lionel Messi wanted to depart from Barcelona in the summer and had been heavily linked with Manchester City.
However, Messi made a shock U-turn on his transfer request after admitting that he didn’t want to sue Barcelona to court over his release clause dispute.
The Argentine captain has now made an immediate impact in his return to the starting XI for Barcelona.
Barcelona played against Girona at the Johan Cruyff Stadium in a friendly match ahead of the new La Liga season.
Almost into the 20th minute, Messi received the ball outside of the box and managed to slice the ball past three Girona players with an inch-perfect pass.
Trincao came dashing into the box and latched onto the six-time Ballon d’Or winner’s ball, only to find Neto charging off his line to meet him.
But the Portuguese forward simply played the ball across the face of goal to Philippe Coutinho, who chipped the ball into the empty net.
Messi’s mesmerising pass sent fans flocking to the popular social media Twitter to praise his brilliance yet again.
