Thomas Tuchel is concerned about Paris Saint-Germain’s injury crisis ahead of their Ligue 1 trip to Nimes.
The German coach claims PSG may have only 11 players available with a number of key players out due to an injury crisis coupled with suspensions and coronavirus protocols.
The current French champions will be looking to continue their winning streak with a fifth win in a row when they travel to Stade des Costieres after a two-week break from action.
However, Tuchel confirmed at his pre-match news conference on Thursday that a number of players are either certainly out of the match or are serious doubts.
Marquinhos, Marco Verratti, Julian Draxler, Thilo Kehrer, Juan Bernat and Mauro Icardi are out with injuries.
Angel Di Maria and Layvin Kurzawa are suspended for the clash, while Ander Herrera has tested positive for coronavirus.
Meanwhile, new recruit Danilo Pereira and Colin Dagba have been in close contact with players who have tested positive for COVID-19 and must undergo another test on Thursday.
Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are also doubts as they recover from their stacked international fixture list, which is a cause for concern for Tuchel.
“Draxler, Verratti and Marquinhos will miss the match against Nimes and are doubtful to face Manchester United [in the Champions League],” Tuchel admitted.
One man who is set to benefit from this injury crisis is Moise Kean, who made a deadline loan move to PSG from Everton.
Tuchel’s side made it to the final last time around, and were beaten 1-0 by Bayern Munich and are expected to be huge favourites this season.
They will kick off their campaign with a home fixture against United on Thursday.
The Parisians will hope to exact revenge on the Red Devils after their stunning round of 16 defeat to them in 2018-19.
