Borussia Dortmund director Michael Zorc believes Dortmund have enough firepower with Erling Haaland, though Jadon Sancho leaving BVB would change everything.
Borussia Dortmund see no need to sign a backup for free scoring youngster Erling Haaland.
Norway superstar Haaland has been a revelation since he burst into the scene at Salzburg, earning him a move to Dortmund in January.
He has continued to perform at the highest levels since joining Dortmund, scoring a total of 16 goals in 18 appearances for BVB.
With Alcacer leaving Dortmund for Villarreal in January, BVB are short of options upfront. This lack of depth in the center forward position increases the burden on Erling Haaland.
“We have so many goal scorers in the team, we scored quite a large amount of goals this season,” Zorc told Footy Area deutsche, with Lucien Favre’s men scoring 84 goals in 34 games as they finished the 2019/20 season 13 points behind Bayern Munich.

Zorc believes Lucien Favre’s breathtaking fluid attacking style, which has seen the likes of Jadon Sancho, Thorgan Hazard and teenage sensation Giovanni Reyna play in central attacking roles at various intervals, means there is no point bringing in another striker.
“In this style of play, there is no classic number nine anymore,” Zorc said.
Erling Haaland has a €75million release clause injected into his current contract and this is not a very huge fee considering the players quality.
Sancho has been linked with a return to England, with Man Utd reported to be the favorites for his signature.
Dortmund have been busy this summer and have already brought in Thomas Meunier and English wonderkid Jude Bellingham.
