Ronaldo and Messi are set to continue their fierce rivalry in the group stage of this year’s Champions League tournament.

Juventus have been drawn alongside LaLiga giants Barcelona, Dynamo Kiev and newcomers Ferencvaros in Group G.

During the ceremony, Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne was named Champions League men’s midfielder of the season.

And Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski was named UEFA men’s Player of the Year 2019-20.

Long term rivals Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will get a chance to show who’s the best when they go head to head twice in this year’s Champions League group stage.

Lionel Messi endured a humiliating 8-2 defeat to last season’s Champions League winners Bayern.

With Messi eventually telling the Barcelona hierarchy that he was fed up with the current administration and wanted to leave.

However, things have settled a bit and he looks set to win more games with the Catalonian outfit.

Messi and Ronaldo have played against each other five times in the Champions League, the former on the winning side twice and as many matches ending in a draw.

While Ronaldo has managed a solitary win, he has failed to score in their previous meetings.

Bayern Munich, who defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 to be crowned champions of Europe for a sixth time in Lisbon in August, will come up against Atletico Madrid in Group A.

PSG were drawn with Manchester United, RB Leipzig and Istanbul Basaksehir in what looks a tough Group H

Previous winners Liverpool (winners of the competition in 2019) will lock horns with Ajax, Atalanta and Midtjylland in Group D.

LaLiga champions Real Madrid are in Group B with Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Europa League winners Sevilla have Chelsea for company in Group E, along with Krasnodar and Rennes to battle with.

Group C consists of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, Porto, Olympiacos and Marseille.

Russian giants Zenit are drawn in Group F with Borussia Dortmund, Lazio and Club Brugge.

The Champions League finals will hold at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on May 29, 2021.
