Gian Piero Gasperini has stepped up to wish PSG attacker Kylian Mbappé a speedy recovery from injury as he hopes to face a complete and fresh PSG team when his Atalanta team locks horns with the French champions in the Champions league quarter finals.
Free scoring Atalanta have seen their Seria A title chase come to an abrupt end after a draw against AC Milan on Friday, with PSG winning their first competitive match since March on Friday also.
PSG’s triumph came at a price though, with their talisman Mbappé stretchered off in the 31st minute after a mean challenge from Loic Perrin.
Kylian Mbappé is now a major doubt for the Champions league quarter final stage clash with Atalanta in Portugal next month.
Gasperini was later informed by Footy Area reporters in a press conference after his side’s draw with Milan about the injury to Mbappé. The Italian coach could only wish him a speedy recovery.
Gasperini told reporters; “I am so sad for him, I didn’t know he was injured, are you serious?
“We don’t want to go through to the next stage due to our opponents weakness. I wish he comes back in time for the game.

“As a matter of fact, when you win against such reverd players, the win means a lot more than without them present.”
Juventus now have the chance to clinch their ninth straight scudetto title if they win their next match against against Sampdoria after Atalanta widened the gap to 5 points following their draw to Milan. Atalanta also missed the opportunity to go ahead after missing a penalty against Milan.
