Pogba joins the already long list of football superstars who have tested positive for Coronavirus in recent memory, with Dybala becoming a culprit of the virus twice.
Manchester United midfielder has been omitted from the latest France National team selection list released by Didier Deschamps on Thursday after testing positive for Coronavirus.
The 26-year-old French international was expected to join up with the rest of the France squad to face Sweden on Saturday.
After a series of tests, it has been confirmed that Pogba will not be joining his teammates in Sweden. France are set to take on Sweden and Croatia without two of their key midfielders.
Paul Pogba recently recovered from an ankle surgery which kept him out for most of the 2019/20 Premier League season.
The midfield talisman has enjoyed a fine personal season beside ‘new boy’ Bruno Fernandes in midfield last season.
Alongside Paul Pogba, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombélé has also been sent home after testing positive for Coronavirus.
Their omission has opened the way for 17-year-old exciting Rennes youngster Eduardo Camavinga to earn his first cap for Les Blues’.
Camavinga is touted to become one of the very best of his generation, and France coach Didier Deschamps was quick to call him up after he sent Pogba and Tanguy Ndombélé home.
In addition to Eduardo Camavinga, Lyon’s Houssem Aouar and RB Leibzig’s Dayot Upamecano have also earned their first national team call-up, and Anthony Martial has been recalled to join the France squad after a two-year absense.
